These guidelines and good editorial practices establish the responsibilities, procedures, and criteria that guide the work of the editorial team, with the aim of ensuring the integrity of the publication process and compliance with the highest international standards.

The following details the journal's responsibilities, which are aimed at ensuring a rigorous and equitable editorial process that is consistent with the publication's academic and social mission.

 

Responsibilities of the journal

  • To meet the needs of its readers and continuously improve the academic and scientific quality of the journal.
  • To accept only unpublished works that are relevant to the editorial line.
  • Subject each manuscript to an initial editorial filter (formal criteria, thematic relevance, and plagiarism detection).
  • Ensure constant communication with authors during all phases of the editorial process.
  • Ensuring the transparency, impartiality, and confidentiality of the editorial processes.
  • Respect the decisions derived from the rulings and the Editorial Committee.

 

Responsibilities of the Editorial Committee Editorial

  • Promote the nomination and dissemination of the journal in national and international academic spaces.
  • Determine the thematic, methodological, and formal relevance of the works received.
  • Support the selection of reviewers and deliberate in cases of controversy.
  • Decide whether exceptional manuscripts of high academic interest will be submitted for arbitration, even if they do not strictly comply with the rules for the submission of original works.
  • Reach agreements and make decisions about editorial processes.
  • Propose topics and authors to whom to request papers.
  • Propose who will form part of the body of reviewers.
  • Those assigned by the Committee itself.

 

Responsibilities of the editorial team

Director

  • Coordinate the actions necessary to meet the objectives of the journal.
  • Ensure a high academic standard in the published content.
  • Supervise the style correction, editing, and production process.
  • Coordinate the necessary actions to meet the established publication schedule for the journal.

 

Technical Editor

  • Manage the receipt, review, and follow-up of manuscripts.
  • Inform authors and the Editorial Committee about the progress of each process, ensuring confidentiality.
  • Apply similarity detection software.
  • Collaborate to maintain the established frequency for publication of the journal.
  • Verify and update DOIs and metadata for articles and reviews.
  • Supervise the creation of files in different formats (XML, HTML, ePUB).
  • Manage and update the content and design of the journal through the OJS platform.
  • Keep the journal's information up to date in indexing systems.
  • Coordinate the selection of images and cover design.

 

Guest editors

  • Coordinate thematic issues together with the journal's editors.
  • Invite authors and reviewers who are experts in the field.
  • Prepare the introductory text for the thematic issue.

 

Responsibilities of authors

  • Submit unpublished, original, and relevant works.
  • Ensure that the submitted manuscript has not been previously published or disseminated in any other medium or language, nor is it currently under review by another journal or publication.
  • Guarantee the accuracy of the data and its ethical collection, avoiding falsification or manipulation.
  • Give credit to all those who have collaborated on the research projects on which the article is based.
  • Declare sources of funding and possible conflicts of interest.
  • Cite the sources used accurately.
  • Avoid references to your own identity in the manuscript (to preserve double-blind review).
  • Do not disseminate the submitted article through other media or submit it simultaneously to another journal.
  • Accept Debate Feminista's editorial and review standards and processes.
  • If the text is accepted, the authors agree to its initial publication in Debate Feminista under the CC BY-NC-ND open access license.

 

Responsibilities of reviewers/s 

  • Only accept manuscripts that correspond to your field of expertise.
  • Declare conflicts of interest at the beginning of the process.
  • Conduct their evaluation considering the originality of the work, its contribution to the subject area, the soundness of the methodology, the relevance and currency of the bibliographic sources, as well as the clarity, coherence, and quality of the structure and writing of the text.
  • Respect confidentiality before, during, and after the review.
  • Submit the evaluation within the agreed time frame.
  • Clearly determine whether the text is approved, rejected, or requires modifications.
  • Inform the journal editor if you detect similarities with another text you have evaluated or identify signs of plagiarism.
  • Do not use or disseminate unpublished reviewed materials.
